Prepare Your Body for Weight Loss


Statistics show that over 60% of adults in the US are now considered obese. This is a staggering statistic, and one that requires that the individual take control of their own health and well-being if they are going to see the changes (weight loss) they desire.

A concerted effort for weight loss may be waged on many fronts, but probably the most successful are those who actually do enough research to determine how they can best prepare their body for the weight loss regimen.

Many researchers agree that 'health begins in the colon'. Or some say, 'death begins in the colon.' In fact, both of these are true statements, depending on which way you are going!

Certain herbs, properly ingested, are able to help break loose much of the accumulated toxins which most Americans are carrying around in their digestive system. Once these toxins are loosened, with continued application of the protocols, they may be flushed out of the body, and once they have been flushed out, health may return. The human body is 'fearfully and wonderfully made' and, given the proper nutrition it strives to return to a healthy condition.

Cleanse the Colon

One of my favorite Herbal Cleansing Programs is a 21 day plan which can be repeated as many times as needed, (with an appropriate break between) until the body has rid itself of accumulated toxins. It is a gentle program with a tablet to be taken at bed time each evening and one taken upon arising in the morning.

Two things happen here

The first benefit, is that a fairly rapid weight loss occurs as the colon is flushed out. On average, we are told, we are carrying anywhere from 8 to 40 lbs. of fecal matter around in our colon at all times. This is a direct result of the toxins that have accumulated in the body. The toxins and undigested matter that accumulates causes bloating (flushing out of the toxins results in a much flatter stomach) and also prevents the normal bodily processes which digest and absorb the nutrients from ingested foods and supplements.

The second benefit is that the body is now prepared to absorb the nutrients provided by the proscribed weight loss protocol.

Drink Clean Clear Water

Along with the herbal cleansing program, remember to drink 8 - 10 glasses of water a day. And this should be purified water. The chlorine and fluoride found in most public water systems act as poisons to the body and prevent the weight loss you desire.

Because so much of the human body is made up of water, it is necessary to replenish the fluids that are lost each day and to enter clean water into the system to allow the body to cleanse itself. Fluids other than water do not provide the same benefit. Imagine yourself trying to wash your hands with coffee, or cola, or milk. They just don't do the job, do they? It works the same inside your body. Clean, clear water provides a cleansing action that nothing else can provide.

Prepare the Body for Weight Loss First

Bottom line here is that if you want to lose weight successfully, you should give thought to preparing the body first, by helping it to cleanse itself of as many toxins as possible. Then search for a weight loss plan that provides nutrients that the body can use to improve your health as well as allow you to lose weight.

One of the best plans I have found to date, provides plant-based protein in a highly nutritious food source as well as a combination of herbs and fiber to help keep the body in a healthful state while ingesting considerably less calories.
